Markzware FlightCheck® Designer is a streamlined version of FlightCheck® Professional. This is the preflight application used by creative designers and others who are users of page-layout tools such as QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign to manage document quality control before printing.
FlightCheck Designer quickly analyzes details of digital documents, then warns the user of potential printing problems that may occur. It provides an overview of potential errors, for example, missing fonts, incorrect colors, transparencies, incorrect image resolution and much more.
One of the key capabilities of FlightCheck Designer is that it is a stand-alone application. Being
a stand-alone application allows designers and creative artists to preflight a wide variety of file formats and image types. A partial list includes - PDF, Adobe InDesign, and QuarkXPress.

The FlightCheck Designer Ground Control tool provides full control to create and manage multiple preflight checklists. Simply by turning on warnings or errors, the user can easily customize inspection that focuses on specific aspects of the document. The profiles, or rule sets can apply towards a wide-range of design, print or publishing workflows. Ground Controls Sets can be shared by importing them into other users of FlightCheck Designer, resulting in quality control continuity.

After verifying the print job, FlightCheck Designer generates a detailed preflight report highlighting where errors occur that can lead to printing problems, provding an easy means to locate the errors for repair. Members of the design team are then able share the reports with others within the workgroup, which may also include the printer or publisher. This helps communicate the status of digital files and prepare better print-ready documents.
Major industry standard specifications such as PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 compliancy as well as the Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) PDF/X PLUS are built directly into FlightCheck as special Ground Control Sets and ready-for-use, out of the box.
